Actually you are looking only the side of story. If a film is made as award oriented then sometime director does not pay more attaention on story. but it should have good story. Director is more interested on screenplay, screenplay writting, editing, music, costume, cinematic technqs. that's why director probably does not monitor this factor. According to me, peepli live movie is a great film ever made by Indian bcoz 1. Great direction (But you have written bad direction of the film, i donot know what do you understand by means of direction of a film)2. The cinematography techniques used, 3. No overacting, 4. New shots and new creativity, 4. Realism as we expect 5. A great ending and beginning, 6. Nattha as best supporting role, 7. I cannot comment on screenplay writting since i have not seen it. 8. Best treatment by director, actor management, time management 9. great editing, music,10. Costume as demand by the film, 11.Awesome casting,12. Awesome dialogue delivery, 13. If you observe the film, anyone character are not actingartificially etc. After all it is great movie. I hope all those +ve points are sufficient for a Award, but not by your pointed points. Same argue was arisen in slumdog but it is now ......... People does not see the actual orientation, only see the outside cover.
